Amazon Kindle Touch and Kindle Touch 3G Announced

Amazon Kindle Touch and Kindle Touch 3G Announced

Amazon is refreshing its Kindle range of devices today and as well as announcing the Kindle Fire and the new Amazon Kindle, they have also announced the Amazon Kindle Touch and Kindle Touch 3G.

Just like the budget Amazon Kindle, the Kindle Touch and Kindle Touch 3G each have two pricing options available. For $99 you get the ad supported Kindle Touch or if you pay up a little ($139) you get the device ad free. Likewise, the ad supported and ad free version of the Kindle Touch 3G cost $149 and $189 respectively.

As the name suggests, the Kindle Touch (and 3G model) utilise a touchscreen to control the device. The screen lets you flick through pages, browse the internet and shop for books. The only difference between the Touch and Touch 3G is that the former is WiFi only while the latter also allows you to connect over a 3G network to download eBooks and other content. Just like other 3G Kindles of the past, the connection is free to use and is included in the cost of the eBook reader.

The Kindle Touch range will be launching on November 21. The 3G model can be pre-ordered here while the non-3G model can be pre-ordered over here.
