Android Market Passes 100,000 App Submit Barrier

Androidlib is a company that tracks Android apps. Today they indicate that 100,000 apps have been submitted since the Market opened for it’s public debut.

What this doesn’t mean is that there are 100,000 apps available to download as an estimated 18,000 apps have been removed or temporarily taken down from the Market. However, it’s still a healthy amount of apps and we should soon see 100,000+ available to download apps for Android devices in the Market.

Looking at the graph (larger version below), it shows that the growth rate is increasing nicely. We suspect that it will continue on and soon reach the 100K apps and we can only guess when the market will hit 200k apps ready for download.
