Nintendo Could Unveil Next Gen HD Wii This Year

Today, reports are hinting that a new Nintendo HD could be launching this year. The new console is expected to be announced at E3 this year, and perhaps earlier from what we also hear.

What we expect to see with the new console is of course, HD – high definition graphics. Although the Wii defined a different type of gaming experience a few years ago, one of the problems with it was the lower resolution graphics when compared to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Angry Birds Coming to the Big (TV) Screen

Pigs have taken your eggs. What better way of getting back at them by firing ‘angry’ birds from a massive slingshot directed straight at them. That’s pretty much it as far as the premise goes and that’s really all you need to know.

Since it’s launch on the iPhone back in December last year, Angry Birds has gone from strength to strength. With downloads literally in the millions, the fowl-flinger has seen huge success amongst it’s rivals and since then has more recently arrived on smartphones running Google’s Android operating system and is currently still doing rather well indeed. AU and Europe To Wait For Kirby Until Next Year

The only Kirby game I remember playing most was Kirby’s Dreamland on the Nintendo Game Boy and I absolutely loved it. It was simple, easy to get into and could quite easily play through the game in one sitting (providing my batteries didn’t run out).

Once news of Kirby’s Epic Yarn appeared, with eagerness, I was looking forward to having ago on this myself. Though unfortunately for those of us in Europe and Australia, we’re now having to wait until 2011. [Read more…]

Wii Getting Netflix Streaming

Not too long ago, it was announced that Sony’s PS3 will be receiving Netflix streaming without the need for disc support and it now seems, as of today, that Nintendo’s Wii will be receiving the same service too via the Wii Shop Channel. [Read more…]

New Lego Wii Remote

When I was a kid (kinda still am depending on who you talk to) I tended to use the little blocks to make spaceships, guns, (not very good) swords and towers. Even now I still like to play around with it a little from time to time though.

What’s tons better though, is that as an exclusive product to Toys ‘R’ Us, you will soon be able to get your hands on a LEGO Wii remote. [Read more…]

Super Mario All-Stars Landing on Wii This Coming December

The little Italian plumber (why he was Italian, I still haven’t the faintest idea) must be one of the most famous video game characters ever, if not, THE most.

I remember playing Super Mario Bros. for the first time on my Nintendo Game Boy in not so glorious black and white (actually rather different shades of green) when I was about 12 years old. Then when I finally had the cash (acquired from paper route money) I got my little hands on a Super NES and stuck in my copy of Super Mario All-Stars for the first time which contained the most quintessential games ever to grace any console, they being, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, and Super Mario Bros 3. It was FANTASTIC. Call of Duty: Black Ops will now be playable in 3D

While writing this post I find myself  realising that I’ve already written a fair amount on the whole ‘3D’ thing. But this new avenue to view our TV programs and play our games seems to be all the rage at the moment and rightly so. [Read more…]

Confirmed: New Wii Remote Plus On It’s Way

In an earlier post, where we spoke about the confirmation for dates and prices for the new Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo also confirmed rumours about a new version of the Wii remote but with no launch details as yet, though we’ll update you when we know more.

This news comes as Sony having just recently released their new Playstation Move and with Microsoft planning on bringing their new motion-tracking peripheral Kinect to us in November. [Read more…]
