Ninja Gaiden 3 – A few new details

The Ninja Gaiden series in general has always been notoriously difficult for those less coordinated of gamers and is by no means casual-gamer friendly, but does on the other hand, provide great visuals, stunning boss fights and decent gameplay.

For it’s third installment, Team Ninja have given a few bits of information regarding Ryu Hayabusa’s latest outing including a bloodied concept image above.

As far as the image is concerned, not a lot has been revealed. Only having the obvious stated that Ryu has his right hand covered in some ‘unnatural’ blood and gore. So more demon hunting perhaps?? A demon too great for even the might Hyabusa maybe?? We’ll have to wait and see.

Otherwise, as far as game direction goes, Team Ninja head Yousuke Hayashi said…

“Ninja Gaiden 3 is a numbered title. We’re developing it with the idea of restarting at the beginning… We’d like to make an action game that’s most interesting for the current era… With this meaning, it’s going to be a game that’s not bound by the past more than necessary. Of course, we will be valuing the past, but, in a good meaning, we’d like to make it into a game that’s not tied down by the past.”

So it seems as though quite a bit of work has already been done concerning the title and that a demo has already been made available for members of staff. From this, so far, reactions have been positive so far.

No official date has been given as yet, but as usual, we’ll give you more information once we have it.

Looking forward to a new Ninja Gaiden title? What are your thoughts on the two previous games? Let us know what you think.

  1. Well both of the previous games were very addicting and very challenging, I’m just hoping you can team up with a friend through the story this time around (also wondering if xbox 360 will get Ninja Gaiden 3 first and then then TeamNinja releasing a Sigma 3 for PS3 a year later).
