Microsoft Office 365 Launches

Microsoft has launched the full version of Office 365. Office 365 has been in beta since last year, but as of today it is now publicly available. Services start at $2/month and move up to $27/month depending on what you choose. Note that the basic service costs $6 which gives access to Office. Services include SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Lync Online as well as Microsoft Office.

Fring Brings Group Video Chat to the iPad

Fring has launched its iPad app which now brings group video chat to the tablet device. The new version of Fring lets up to four people chat with a video link at the same time.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Review

Samsung saw great success with the original Samsung Galaxy S smartphone. With that success, they went on to build a tablet or 2. Now, we have the Samsung Galaxy S2 which is a new and updated version of the original Galaxy S.

When taking the Galaxy S2 out of the box you immediately notice you are looking at a very nice smartphone. The device is sleek. It’s slim and not heavy at all. Most of the front is taken up with the large 4.3 inch screen. Other than that, there’s a small speaker, camera and a couple of sensors. Below the screen a button can be found which has a touch sensitive button on either side of it.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking Gets Remote Mic App for iOS

Nuance has released a new version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking and with that, a companion app that allows you to use an iOS device as a remote microphone for the software.

The new version of the software is 11.5 and along with being able to function with iOS used as an external mic, it also allows for you to update your facebook status with your voice.

Apple Begin Selling Unlocked iPhone 4 in the US

In the US, Apple has begun selling an unlocked GSM version of the iPhone 4. The cost is $649 and for that you get the unlocked iPhone 4 compatible with GSM networks. It comes with no microSIM card.

iCloud iTunes Launch for UK Likely 2012

Steve Jobs announced iCloud on Monday. When it arrives, it will allow iOS users to backup their device to the cloud in a seamless and automatic way. Along with iCloud, iTunes in the Cloud was also mentioned. When browsing the UK Apple website (apple.com/uk), you’ll notice that where iTunes in the Cloud is mentioned, it also has a note below it saying “* Starting in the US” as pictured below:

Samsung and Acer Google ChromeBooks Now Available for Pre-Order

Amazon and Best Buy are now accepting pre-orders for the various Google Chrome Books. At the moment, models from Samsung and Acer are available for pre-order and each have a shipping date of 15 June according to Google.

iOS 5 has Some Limitations for 3GS Owners

When iOS 4 first launched, a few features were held back from older versions of the iPhone. The same has happened with iOS 5 although the list of unavailable features isn’t as dramatic as seen in earlier versions of the OS.

First the good news. From what we understand, iOS 5 works great on older hardware such as the iPhone 3GS. Notifications work well and the scroll down notification pane is fully functional with no lag. Twitter integration is also available for 3GS owners.

HP TouchPad Release Date is July 1 – Pre-Orders Begin June 19

HP is launching the HP TouchPad on July 1st. The company announced that the TouchPad will be made available for pre-order on June 19. The 1st July release date is for those in the US. The UK, Ireland, France and Germany will all see the TouchPad released a few days later.

HP’s first webOS tablet will be available in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France and Germany a few days later and in Canada in mid-July, with availability scheduled to follow later this year in Italy and Spain, as well as in Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Singapore.

Evernote Peek Smart Cover App for iPad Launches

Evernote has created a new app for the iPad called Evernote Peek. The app is the first in the world to make use of the iPad 2 smart covers. The idea was created when Phil and Andrew of Evernote were sitting on a plane and wondered what can be done with the smart cover. The answer was Evernote Peek.

iOS 5 Hints at Two iPad 3 and Two iPhone 5 Models

Although there’s not much we are too surprised about here, we still thought we’d mention that iOS 5 has indications that two iPad 3 models will be launching as well as 2 iPhone 5 models. The information comes from the SDK that shows references to iPad3,1 and iPad3,2 as well as iPhone4,1 and iPhone4,2. No mention of a new iPod touch is listed.

The reason the iPhone model numbers contain a four is that it’s the forth generation iPhone if you count the 3G still as first generation.
