Back at CES in Vegas last month, Casio had on display a concept camera called the Casio EX-10HG. This particular camera is similar to EX-FH100 but is different in that it has a built in GPS chip. The GPS chip is utilised more than just geo-tagging though and can be used as a guidance system by pulling data from Google Maps to show you exactly where you are at any given time.
Over at PMA that’s running at the moment, a Casio representative revealed that the concept camera was actually to be launched this year in October and will have a price point of $400.
We don’t know all the ins and outs of the camera just yet as the specs revealed before were from a concept model which could get changed over time. What does seem to stay the same is the GPS (obviously) along with 10 times optical zoom along with a 12.1 megapixel sensor. Other things mentioned that could be seen in the final variation of the EX-10HG is that the LCD screen found on the concept will become a touchscreen LCD on the final version. Of course, the touchscreen along with Google Maps and built in GPS should make navigation and destination input a lot easier.
