TDK has created a couple of new passive matrix OLED screens, one of which is flexible.

This particular model pictured below is just 0.3 mm thick and can be rolled up to have a radius of just 25mm. The resolution of this flexible screen is 256 x 64 pixels although contrast ratio and brightness are not known just yet. [Read more…]

Sony Google TV Launches on October 12

Sony will be launching a Google TV this month. The model will be the Sony NSX-46GT1 and it has a launch date in the US of October 12. Late last week we had already seen the October 12 date announced although we didn’t have details of which TV it would be.

Along with Sony launching a Google TV, Logitech will also be holding an event this month on October 6 that will see the Logitech Revue Google TV companion box launched.

Sony calls its TV the Internet TV and looking at the specs we see it will run an Intel Atom processor. Size wise, we believe it will be a 46 inch screen and will provide the full Google TV experience to users who are based in the US. [Read more…]

Toshiba To Reveal Glasses-Less 3D TV By End Of Year??

There was a lot of speculation surrounding Nintendo’s new upcoming handheld console, the 3DS, when it was announced last year because of the fact that you won’t need large, unsightly, and expensive 3D glasses to experience 3D images. Apple 27 Inch Cinema Display Now Shipping

We found hints earlier this week that Apple [AAPL] was gearing up to start selling the 27 inch Cinema display.

Good news for all those looking out for it is that it’s now here and ready for purchase.

The screen it’s self was announced back in July and at that time, was given a release date of just late September. Good news is that it’s almost late September and it is available from Apple. [Read more…]

Air Display gets Windows Support

Air Display is an app that you run on your iPad that allows you to expand the screen real estate of your computer.

Until now, Air Display has only been available to install on Mac based computers. No Air Display Windows software existed that allowed you to send the contents of a second screen on to your iPad.

The software is relatively easy to use on the Windows PC side of things. All you need to do is download the app on the iPad, download the accompanying software on to your Windows based PC, set up a few options such as iPad location in relevance to your laptop/computer screen and you are good to go. Apple 27 Inch LED Display Landing Soon

Apple [AAPL] could be launching the Apple 27 inch LED display any day now.

9 to 5 Mac noticed that when viewing the Mac Pro customisation page on the Apple site last week, that the text spoke about a 24 inch LED display. When visiting the site this week the wording has changed to specify a 27 inch LED display that is launching sometime this month. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy Tab to get Super TFT LCD Display

Samsung has confirmed that it will be using a Super TFT LCD screen in the Samsung Galaxy Tab when it launches. This is a different screen to the Samsung Galaxy S that currently uses Super AMOLED technology.

The reasons for using a Super TFT screen is apparently to do with them being cheaper to manufacture and that the screens run more efficiently which increases battery life. [Read more…]

Philips 21:9 3D Cinema Display Landing in Homes

Early last year, Philips unveiled the Philips Cinema 21:9 screen that was super wide in aspect.

This particular TV is being revived and will be launching again as a 3D enabled Cinema TV. The new Philips 21:9 3D Cinema Display measures 58 inches diagonally.

The new TV will be capable of playing both 2D and 3D content in 2.39:1 format which gets rid of the black borders on the top and bottom of movies. Of course, if you watch regular TV on the Cinema display then the borders are put on the sides on a TV this wide. [Read more…]
