The Amazon AppStore has gone live in a number of locations around the world. The service up till today was only available for those in the US. iPad iOS 5 Compared Side by Side with Windows 8 Slate

After the quite impressive looking Windows 8 preview was released to developers a few days ago the question that I’ve seen across the net asks if it will be the next iPad killer. Windows 8 actually looks quite good and seems to have been thought out well. We’ve seen it running on a few tablets in the past few days but haven’t seen a side by side comparison with the actual iPad.

Android to be Optimised for Intel Chips

Google Android will soon run on Intel Chipsets according to an announcement made earlier today. Over at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) Andy Rubin of Google went on stage with a prototype smartphone running Google Android 2.3 which was powered by an Intel Medfield chip which is the latest in the Atom series from the company.

Motorola Xoom Prices Dropped

It appears that Motorola is about to officially drop the price of the Motorola Xoom tablet. In the UK, Dixons has dropped the tablet from £500 down to £329 for the 32GB model and also has dropped the 32GB 3G version down from £580 to £400.

November Launch for Amazon Kindle Tablet is Likely

Since late last week we began getting a lot of decent info about the Amazon Kindle tablet. We found out that the price would likely be $250 when it launches and also found out that a 7 inch model would be launching alone in the beginning. We now hear that it will launch in November. Nothing is official just yet although Digitimes is reporting that orders are being made for the components and that the Kindle tablet is getting ready to be built.

HTC Jetstream Now Available at AT&T

AT&T is now selling the HTC Jetstream tablet. The new device was announced at IFA last week and is currently an exclusive for the AT&T network. Price wise, it costs a hefty $699.99 along with a 2 year contract. Without contract the price moves up to $849.99.

Amazon Kindle Tablet Mockup

Last week more details of the Amazon Kindle tablet were revealed. The report came from TechCrunch who had apparently tested the device but were unable to post pictures of it.
