New DLC For Left 4 Dead Has A Date

The makers of Left 4 Dead have announced new downloadable content which will be released on October 5th an will be available on Xbox LIVE and PC. Valve have named this new instalment “The Sacrifice” which will be playable on both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2.

This latest DLC will be more of a prequel to “The Passing” that came out earlier this year and is a separate download to the similarly named on Left 4 Dead 2 and owners of the the latter will get the “No Mercy” campaign (playable using the characters from Left 4 Dead survivors). “The Sacrifice” will force players to choose one member of their team to die at the end of the campaign (no spoilers here) and as usual,  (according to IGN) this will be playable in Campaign, Versus, Survival, and Scavenge modes and both will feature the Left 4 Dead 2 Special Infected, items, and weapons.

From L4D’s official site, 5 new achievements will be available, a new finale and all this will be available as two separate packages on Xbox Live for 560 Microsoft Points each and free to all PC gamers.
