Dummy Cursors Distract Onlookers from Seeing Your Password

Entering passwords on a system can be risky if done in a public place where onlookers are watching what you do. A new system has been created that adds a swarm of moving cursors to the screen so that it helps mask and confuse onlookers as to which mouse cursor is the real one.

The system currently appears to have two password entry systems with one being an onscreen keypad and the other being a rotary style key pad. 20 – 30 dummy cursors can be found on the regular keypad and the rotary pad has 7 dots to confuse onlookers.

It isn’t known if this type of system will be released as it looks more like a project at the moment, but I quite like the idea and perhaps we will see it one day unless another even more secure system is put in place first.
