Samsung Laptop has Transparent OLED Screen

At CES, Samsung unveiled a laptop that has a transparent OLED screen that can let up to 40% light through it from the background. Although it might not be fully practical in a laptop design a transparent OLED screen has applications elsewhere such as being embedded on to the wind-shield of your car allowing navigation to be overlayed on to the road ahead.

The current maximum transparency on other screens is only 25%, so bumping that up to 40% by Samsung is a good achievement.

The laptop used to demonstrate the screen is an unknown at the moment with no specs revealed about it. It does make you wonder if there is a way to automatically switch off transparency when not needed as it could then be quite useful for the laptop if it could be used for both applications. To see the screen actually working check out the video below.
