Samsung Vibrant Android Smartphone Comes to T-Mobile US

T-Mobile has announced that it will be offering the Samsung Galaxy S. On the T-Mobile network it will be known as the Samsung Vibrant and launched July 21 on to the network.

When launched the Samsung Vibrant will come with Avatar pre-loaded on to the 2GB memory card as well as a collectors edition of a game. Amazon Kindle for Android is also pre-installed on the phone allowing you to easily grab books for reading while on the go.

The technical specs show that the Samsung Vibrant will have a 4 inch Super AMOLED display that has a high resolution. A 1GHz processor is to be found inside also built by Samsung (Cortex A8 Hummingbird Application Processor). Also a six-axis accelerometer can be found inside that detects movement on the phone for games and screen orientation.

The Samsung Vibrant works on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network allowing for increased download speeds when in a HSPA+ coverage area.

“By combining best-selling, award-winning content and amazing hardware that brings that content to life, T-Mobile continues to deliver on its commitment to bring innovative mobile entertainment experiences to consumers’ fingertips,” said Paul Cole, vice president, devices and accessories, T-Mobile USA. “We are proud to introduce the Samsung Vibrant as the latest addition to our growing lineup of Android-powered devices.”

The Samsung Vibrant is an excellent device that has had some good reviews. It does only run Android 2.1, but is expected to be upgraded to Android 2.2 eventually, perhaps quarter 3 at a guess.

Full details of the Samsung Vibrant can be found here. It is expected that pre-orders for the Samsung Vibrant will start on July 1 where you can reserve it at RadioShack by purchasing a $50 gift card that can be applied to the price when you pick up the phone.
