PS3 to recieve 3D Blu-ray support, Japan to get it first

During Sony’s press conference at the Tokyo Games Show, it was announced that it will finally release 3D Blu-ray support onto the PS3 from 21 September.

Unfortunately though, it is only Japan that will be getting this long awaited update for the time being but seeing as the market for 3D Television sets are on the horizon, it shouldn’t be too long a wait before the rest of the world gets their hands on it too.

But of course,  that’s only if you can afford to hook up your PS3 to a brand spanking new 3D enabled TV that is. Will it be worth the wait? Seeing as without a 3D TV, this added support may seem more frivolous.
